Title

Madison Area Peace Coalition E-mails

Description

The Madison Area Peace Coalition (MAPC) formed fourteen days after the September 11 attacks to oppose (among other goals) the use of U.S. military, economic, or political force – whether direct or proxy, overt or covert -- "that violates the sovereignty or human rights of any nation or people." The Archive has assembled here e-mails exchanges from MAPC dating from the group's founding until late November 2001.

"We see the same intolerance of dissent, the same mad global ambitions,

Dear Friends:
A great tragedy has befallen our nation. A catastrophe that leaves none of our lives untouched. Many innocent lives were lost due to a senseless act of terror and violence. Although this horriffic event may outrage many, and rightly so,…

I agree with x on this one. I was referring to this deployment when I
spoke during our last general body meeting. This is nothing new, they've
been doing this for the last week or so. This, in my opinion, does not
constitute "ground troops"…

Next CC meeting is Sunday 4:00 p.m., TITU.

Minutes are posted at http://madpeace.org/Wiki/MeetingOct21

Thanks for this history of the peace symbol, X.

We need to know our history.  As X said this weekend, the most

Educating the public needs to be our number one priority right now, given just how small a minority the anti-war movement is.  MAPC should be disseminating information and analysis on the widest possible basis, and using that information to help…
