If your statement about not doctoring the image is true then you captured in a split second the face of evil. We live in a world of Yin and Yang, dark and light, good and evil - every mythology from the most primitive to the most sophisticated has embraced this concept. Never before did we have the where-with-all to capture it on tape or high speed film - you have provided the "mug shot." This does not freighten me, it enlightens me - for as the ghost disappears when you shine a flashlight on it in the dark, so evil exposed is rendered impotent when it is captured and displayed as you have. If you have in any way "enhanced" this picture or video then you should be ashamed of yourself - but if we take you at your word, then you were chosen to do mankind a great service in showing that for every action (in this case, evil), there is an equal (the photo), and opposite reaction (the great outpouring of compassion). It is simple physics. I am sure this has been very unnerving for you, there are sometimes great mysteries which we must simply accept without question. Mr. Phillips, Last night I was sitting by a campfire with a friend. We were discussing all the evil in the world. A few years ago I went through some real hell. I was describing to her, in detail, what it was like to stare evil straight in the face. I won't get into specifics, but basically, I was eye to eye with what I percieved to be the human form of the devil. I survived it. I fought it and won. Not one minute later, my boyfriend comes out of the house and begins to tell us about your photo. It was really strange. It made the hairs on my neck stand up. Here, we were just discussing evil, next, this photo comes up. It may be coincidental that there appears to be this image. I don't believe for a second that you're photo was doctured. I've read the strict rules you have on "docturing" photos. I'm not some freak. It's just that, I've seen evil and the way that I feel today about what happened, well, frankly, I am curious about this photo. I've seen evil and let it dare show it's face again. I am an American citizen and I will fight for our freedom. There isn't any evil anywhere that I can't face. I'm sorry for rattling on. I hope you don't think I'm some weirdo. I guess, like everyone else, I'm just trying to make sense of this all. I've always been the kind of person that sees the best in everyone. I am so sorry that you had to witness such horror. Mr. Phillips I am in awe of your picture of a face in the smmoke of the WTC building. I do not see Ben Laden in it nor do I see the devil exacxtly. I believe this was an evil deed and it was prompted by satan and carried out by ben laden. I also beleive it is the face of the image of the beast that will be worshiped during the tribulation which comes immediately after the rapture of the born again beleivers in the True Jesus Christ their saviour, and an anti christ will immerge to claim he is the I am who will bring a false peace for 3 1/2 years then the last 3 1/2 years will be full of plagues like this world has never seen. this anti christ will clone himslef and there will be a beast that people will worship who will actually be the devil in disguise. To whom it may concern: I was at my girlfriends home when this awful tragedy occurred, I personally saw the image and told my girlfriend to look at it and at first she couldn't make the face until I got up and pointed to the horrible image. I am a United States Navy Sailor. And, we are now going through some tough times being on the brink of war. It scares us all. I first saw your picture at work. Someone had e-mailed it to a friend of mine. I can't say that it scared me. All I can say is it freaked a lot of us out.
