Hi, My name is Jackie Chin and I have only just seen the picture this morning Friday that is. I not only noticed the grim image in the center of the photo, but also noticed something else...along the side of the building there are what appears to be little blue streaks of light, specifically two of them that I noticed clearly away from the smoke filled inside. I noticed when looking at your picture that I felt very strongly that it was in no way shape or form changed by a human touch. I would like to share a short story that happened to me when I was 22 years of age. I had to go to CA for a few weeks for a family matter. My spouse, stayed at home. The nite that I returned from my trip I was upstairs in my bed room laying on the bed just tryin to relax from jet lag. The dimmer switch on my bed lamp was on high so I dimmed the light. Then I went back to tryin to relax as I was laying there my gaze went to the wall I began to see an image appearing. I thought man that is some jet lag now I am seeing things, but a short while later I thought otherwise. I dimmed the light even more and the image became brighter on the wall. It was shaping out to become a skull and rather daunting. I yelled for my spouse to come upstairs. He and his friend came up and I asked him if he saw anything on the wall. His reply was "Yes, there is an image of a skull with horns on it, and I have been talking to it while you were gone." I almost shit my pants right there. I went and grabbed the holy oil and holy water I had in the house from a sacred place and with all my strength and conviction in GOD I lathered it on my hand and slapped the wall. I then said a prayer and away it went never to be seen again. I have never seen anything like that before and hoped to never again. Your picture reminded me that the Evil One is still here and is greatly rejoicing in the recent events. Mark, I commend you on a job well done, during a truly difficult time. I truly believe that if the face in the picture is the devil (which does not surprise me), is was by God's grace that you were able to capture it. America should be scared, scared enough to seek out God, and to remember how and why this country was truly founded. We as a nation have turned our backs on God in many ways and this should be a definite wake-up call. Apparently, God wanted you to be the one to show what"evil" truly looks like, and that "evil" was the one behind it. I believe that the picture of the face in the World Trade Center is real. We have had a similar experience. My husband got saved and decided to burn all of his KISS cassette tapes. My friend took a picture of the fire as it was burning. When we got them back we saw a face similar to the one that is at the World Trade Center. My husband kept them as a testimony. As the fire was burning that night we also heard really weird hissing and other noises like low screaming. If you believe in God at all you know that the spirit world is real as well. My husband is a Fireman and knows how fires burn and ours was not a normal fire. I just want to let you know that you are not the only one out there that this has happened to and We Believe You! It kind of freaked me out, but I also saw an angel image next to it. I told my co-workers about it and they just laughed like I was crazy, but when my friend sent me this e-mail, I got goosebumps. I certainly think someone should have talked to you in the process of discussing your photo, the image in the smoke and any question of manipulation. It is a pretty poor example of journalism to have done otherwise. That said, I notice the story and photo are no longer on the Poynter web site. I'm not sure this qualifies as a suitable solution. I doubt I'll be any help getting to talk to Vin Alabiso. I would be glad to post a letter from you to the NPPA's discussion list. I heard your interview on 93.3 "The Planet" this morning regarding the "face in smoke" photo. I looked it up when I got home. It's very eerie to say the least. After checking my e-mail, an acquaintance of mine sent me this photo. I'm not so sure it hasn't been "touched". The resolution isn't nearly as good as your photo. I sincerely hope images like these don't start popping up everywhere, thus discrediting the validity of your photo.
