Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I woke up that morning and started getting ready for school just like i had done every morning for the past few weeks. All of the sudden the phone rang and it was my mom. This was very weird for her to call in the morning since she really did not know my schedule and did not like to call just in case she would wake me up. She then told me what was going on and to turn on the television or radio. i finished getting ready for school unsure i fi should even go, but decided that it would probably be better then sitting around at home. i listened to the radio the entire way to school and was pretty much in shock still. i could not believe that this was happening. When i had got to school i remember walking in and there where many students in Bodie hall watching a television to keep them updated. i went to my class where my teacher was very shaken up and she took attendance and then sent us down to a bigger classroom with a television so that we could all watch the news together. while watching the news one of the girls in my class started crying. apparently her mother had worked in one of the twin towers and she was very worried about the safety of her mom. that is when it really began to hit home for me. i went straight home after class to wake up my boyfriend and inform him of everything going on around us. when i was telling him about it he thought that i was joking. he kept saying that there is no way anything like that would happen to our country. we then spent the rest of the afternoon watching the news and trying to get in contact with our friends to see how they where doing. later that night i had to go to work, which i was really not looking forward to. i work in a bar so i figured that it would probably be a pretty depressing night. i was right. many people came into the bar but mainly to have one or two drinks and watch the presidents speech that he was making that night. it is weird to think that some day our kids and grandkids will be reading about this in there history books and i was actually alive to experience it. i have always heard my mom talk about where she was the day of JFK's assissination but i never really thought much about how she lived through a major event of our history. my main fear was that there was going to be a war and that my friends would have to go across seas and fight. i thought that if they where going to attack again that it migh tbe the Sears Tower which would then shake up my life style even more. it would make things so much more of a reality. my heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones during this horrible tragedy. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: Two days before the attack, my husband and I had just moved into our new home. The morning of the attack, I had awoken feeling tired from the move, and very excited about our upcoming adventure with unpacking and decorating. That morning at 6:30 PST, I turned on CNN and that was when I learned of the attack. It had just happened. I was in shock and disbelief. I attempted to contact several relatives and friends in New York, but could not get through, the phone lines were jammed. Prior to turning on CNN, I had just taken a pregnancy test, and as I was learning about the attacks, I found out that we were pregnant. You can imagine how I felt at that moment, grief stricken, horrified, and yet so overwhelmed with joy. My husband and I were worried that I might not be able to have a baby, and now I was worried that we might not have an AMERICA for our child to grow up in. On 9-11 my whole world and my small world changed, I am forever grateful to my friends and family, and to those who protect us. I trust that God will see us through these times no matter how horrific, no matter how troublesome, and no matter how tragic. My faith is stronger, and my life has become more blessed and more important to me because of the attacks. I do not take for granted that I live in America, and I remind myself of all the beauty surrounding me and my family. I have learned patience and acceptance, and to be more tolerant of my fellow man. I say a prayer every day for those who gave their lives, for those continuing to serve us, for those faced with the difficult challenge of making decisions, for all those that lost a special person, and for those that lost their lives and have no one to miss them. By the grace of God, I have a beautiful daughter that I get to teach these many things about life, both wonderous and sad. Tell us your story: September 11th, 2001 was a tragic day for all citizens of the United States, and especially for the victims of the appalling events that encompassed it. The collapsing of the Twin Towers in New York, the partial destruction of the Pentagon in Washington D.C., the plane crash in Pennsylvania; three horrific, terrorist led events that marked a ?date that will live in infamy.? The citizens of the United States will never forget the tragic events that occurred September 11, 2001. In my own mind, it is hard to recall the day of September 11, 2001. I had gone to school, just like any other day; and I had gone to all my classes, just as I would any other day. Yet in-between one of my classes, I had heard rumors that some buildings had been bombed in New York and in D.C. I had not really thought much of it until I had gone to one of my classes towards the end of the day. That was when I found out the rumors I had heard were somewhat true. During that last class, I had found out from a teacher that the famous Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in D.C. had been destroyed. Immediately, I was overcome with great fear, as I knew that my mom was working in a building that was located very close to the Pentagon. For the rest of the day, until I had gotten home, I was terrified of the thought that my mom might have been injured. However, when I got home, my dad told me that she had just called, and that everything was okay. In spite of this, everything was not okay! A multitude of people were either killed or injured from the terrorist attacks that occurred that day, and all that was going through my mind was, ?What will happen next?? Many thoughts have crossed my mind both before and after the 9/11 attacks. As I previously stated, my initial thoughts and reactions to the event(s) were taken dispassionately, as I was completely ignorant and oblivious of what had really occurred. I did not think that it was that big of a deal. However, when I found out what really happened, and that some of our country?s most treasured/significant edifices were battered down to rubble, I quickly became aware of the situation and was overwhelmed with both hatred and fear; hatred for those who caused the occurrences, and fear that these tragic events were only the beginning to a horrifying war of some sort. The tragic events of the 9/11 attacks will always be remembered in our nation?s history. They affected [and still affect] the citizens of our country. To this very day, many are still trying to recover from the after-effects of the horrifying events that took place that day, as many had lost close friends and family members. Yet, not all things resulting from the 9/11 were negative. A prime exemplification of this is how our nation huddled up together and became united/unified once again; the events encompassing that day seemed to set everyone?s attention on the bigger picture, and cause our country to unite itself. Nevertheless, the citizens of our country will remember the day of September 11, 2001, and the tragic events that embrace that date in infamy, for generations to come. Some of the other students mentioned a plane crash, but I thought it was nothing out of the ordinary. In science class, my teacher explained that there had been terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He told us that the planes that crashed into the buildings were hijacked We all were fairly shocked but did not know how tragic it really was. At soccer practice after school, everyone was talking about it. Still, no one knew exactly what had happened. I remained clueless until I got home that day. My family was sitting with their eyes glued to the television. The news was on. My mom explained the details of what had happened and how thousands of people were killed. The televsion showed actual footage of the two planes crashing into the Twin Towers. Watching this footage brought tears to my eyes, as I thought about how so many people had died. Volunteers were still searching for people, and there was nothing that I could do , at the moment, to help. This thought remained in many American minds for the rest of the day. Certainly September 11, 2001 changed my life. The day made me realize how fortunate we are to be living in this free country. Our country was almost forgetting that we are a strong, free country. The day made us appreciate our liberty and justice and unite as a nation to overcome the tragedy. September 11, 2002, also made me apprecaite my family and friends. The tragic day forced me to be thankful that I had not lost anyone I personally knew, loved, or cared about. September 11, 2001, made people feel less safe. I felt like terrorists might attack again. I felt scared that America might have been planning on going to war. Airports developed more strict security polocies, as did just about everyone else. Everyone grew to be more careful and cautious. In my opinion, many things should be remembered about September 11, 2001. Volunteers, including firemen, who lent a helping hand to find more people, clean up the mess, or help in some way, should surely be remembered. The generosity of these volunteers should remain in our heartsforever. September 11, 2002, brought out behaviors and characteristics in people that made them better human beings. These behaviors and characteristics should continually be remembered. Also, the unity of Americans on that day should be remembered. The tragedies on September 11, 2001, made us unite as a country. They showed us how imporant it is to love our country. We all realized that the only way to get through it was to unite together as one country. Surely our unity should never be forgotten. Tell us your story: I remember it well...I was preparing to go to my daughter and sons' school to be the substitute teacher for the Music department. I was in the bathroom and I had our local channel 10 on with the Today show. All of a sudden they were saying that a plane had hit the World Trade Center building. It said something to the fact of a small plane hitting the building, so I remember thinking that that was terrible for those that were in those offices and the person who had flown the [small] plane. I then turned off the T.V. and proceeded to get into my van to drive to work. Only to my amazement, on the way to work it came on the radio that it was a jet that had hit the World Trade Center, and I just gasped, realizing it was a lot worse than what I had thought previously at home. As I got to the school and through the morning, they had televisions going showing the building and then showing the other tower being hit by the other jet. I was six months pregnant at the time and I just kept feeling the sense of knumbness...what was happening to our nation and I was going to be bringing new life into it... When I got to the school, I was aware that the lady I was subbing for was in Washington D.C. with her husband and I, along with other teachers, was VERY concerned about her well being. We didn't know where she was staying or how she was doing. Later that day, we got word that she was staying not far from the Pentagon, and I would be subbing a little longer than intended because no flights out of Washington D.C. were going out or coming in for an undetermined time. I remember the swelling of tears building up every time I would watch the television - hearing that it was considered a terrorist act, and then hearing at another break time of the plane crashing in Pennyslvania. I just continued to wander...what is my future baby in for, along with my other two children already in school. It was sooo sad!!! Tonight, September 11, 2002 - one year later, I hear on my television the song "Prayer" by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli and how I have sung that song before and how I love that song. They are using it for a commemorative commercial for the remembrance of September 11th victims, and it reminds me why I love the song so much...it has such a wonderful meaning! Tell us your story: I was watching the television listening to the news about the first plane hitting the world trade center and saw the second plane hit. I instantly started to cry and called most of my family members to let them know what had happened, to see how they were and to tell them that I loved them. My one brother was overseas in Ireland and could not return for some time and he was worried about his family too and my other brother was across the river watching the World Trade Center building crumble. I don't think I have ever known him to be speechless. I have tried to contribute and donate but I know that it doesn't even come close to what is needed. I know that this has touched so many lives in so many different ways but I wanted to say that I think of and pray for all those who lost their lives, and to their families, in this horrible disaster. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I came into work as usual on the Staten Island ferry that morning. I usually walked up to the Trade Centers on nice days but for whatever reason, I took the train, a decision that may have saved my life. I was in the cafeteria on the 43rd floor in Tower 1 when I heard and felt a loud explosion. While the building swayed, I looked out the large picture windows facing south and saw debris falling down. I knew that something hit the building and thought that it may have been a helicopter. My first reaction was to head for the elevators but realizing that they would have gone to the lobby I then headed to the stairwell. When I opened the door, it was already filled with people. I started down and except for two women, everyone else was calm. The fact that no one really knew what was going on saved more lives in Tower 1 than anyone will ever know. After going down a couple of floors, I called my wife and told her to watch the news. She called me back a few minutes later and told me that a plane had hit the building. It was not until the 17th floor that I heard a fire alarm. I also smelled smoke at about the same time. At around the 9th floor, we stopped. I called my wife and told her I was almost out. I did not talk to her again until after I was home, around 1PM, all the time her thinking that I was in the tower when it came down. On the 5th or 6th floor there was water coming out from the bottom of the fire door. When I got out of the stairwell, I was on the mezzanine level. I was directed to go across the walkway to the Winter Garden. Looking out into the plaza area was like looking into a car wreck from the inside. By that time the second plane had hit Tower 2 but this was something I as yet did not know about. I ran across the walkway through the Winter garden and out to the marina. It was there that I saw my boss and a number of co-workers. I turned around and saw the damage on Tower 1. I immediately realized that if nothing else the top of the tower was going to come down. I then started to see the bodies of the some of the people who jumped come down. I grabbed my boss and we made our way one block north. We decided to make our way up to City Hall. My brother worked in a building on Broadway and I was worried about him. It was while we were walking that I saw the damage on Tower 2. At first I though it strange that Tower 2 was damaged from the plane that hit Tower 1. Almost immediately I found out what really happened and that it was a terrorist attack. I couldn?t get to my brothers? building so my boss and I separated, I heading down to the ferry terminal and he to Penn Station. While walking downtown I found out about the attack on the Pentagon and about the plane crash in Pennsylvania. The outside area around the ferry terminal was filled with people, most of them talking about what had happened and speculating about what could happen next. At the same time a ferry came in two things happened. The first was a sound must like a very low pitch jet engine which caused large numbers of people to start running and screaming that another building had been hit by a plane. The second was what I can only describe as sleet coming down from the sky. What had happened was that Tower 2 had fallen and that I was getting covered in the debris and smoke from the collapse. Some time later I heard a second sound much like the first. It was Tower 1 coming down. I was able to get onto the next ferry that came in. I was finally able to get someone, my sister-in-law, on my cell-phone. I told her I was OK, found out my brother was OK and asked her to call my parents and my wife. For days afterwards I was a zombie. I found that I would drift into images of what happened. I cared about nothing because I felt nothing. I went down to the Trade Centers site in October last year but I just can?t bring myself to go now that the site has been cleared. The only thing that kept me going those first few days was the hope that survivors would be found. As that hope faded, I came to realize that a part of me also died and could never be recovered. Each day when I wake up I pray that the nightmare will end and all will be as it was even though I know that is something that will never happen. There are certain things I will never forget from that day. The falling bodies. The man I walked with down the stairwell. The fireman walking up the stairs while I was walking down. The look on Ed?s? face sitting in his wheelchair. Ed, along with Abe, who stayed with Ed, Winston, Angela and Cynthia never made it out. The people in there life jackets on the ferry. The gray smoke cloud that hung over the Trade Center site. The man who gave me the tissue to cover my mouth and nose. Even though the towers are gone, I feel that there are still there. I can?t refer to the site the way the news media does, which is heartless. For all time there will always be the World Trade Center with its? two towers. We can never let anybody forget what happened that day because if we do, then it will surely happen again. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I worked for Merrill Lynch for 33 years and had worked at One Liberty Plaza when the World Trade Center was being built. And I can remember looking out the window watching this incredibly tall building going up. I remember when they were filming 'King Kong' and we went into the city to see KONG laying at the foot of the World Trade Center with the make believe broken sidewalk around him. I then went to work in NJ when Merrill started moving their Operations out there. I worked in NJ for six year before going back to the City in November of 2000. I didn't realize how 'unexciting' working in NJ had been until I went back into the City. It was so invigorating, so much energy, so much excitement and so many coffee shops!!!!! Everyday it was the same routine. Catch the train at South Amboy NJ. Switch for the PATH and get off at the World Trade Center. I would be carried along with the crowds up the stairs and then the escalator. I would bear right off the escalator passing the sales people selling wireless services. Everyday I wondered how could they stand on their fee all day. I would go into the American Coffee Shop and get my Latte...the people who worked there were so friendly, always smiling. Holding that precious cup of Latte I would proceed through the revolving doors into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, I observed the line of people waiting on line to show Security their badges before being allowed to go up the elevators to their jobs. I would cross the bridge over to the World Financial Center to my job. In the evening it was the same thing in reverse....out daily routine becomes so ingrained in us that we do it without even thinking about it. In July of 2001 I moved to Florida. It was a quick decision my husband and I made and it all fell into place. Nothing I had ever planned had ever gone so smoothly. The house was sold, we packed, we moved. On September 11, 2001 my Aunt Diane called me to say a plane had hit the WTC and she was upset because my cousin RoseMarie worked there. I told my overly dramatic Aunt to not worry, it was just an accident and everything would be ok. I switched the channel. And then the second plane hit and of course I put the News back on and I watched in horror as the Trade Center collapsed. There are no words to describe how one felt watching this. To this day I feel a gasp in my throat when I try to touch and feel what happened that day. I have been consumed by September 11 since that day. In December of 2003 I finally returned to New York to visit Ground Zero. I cried, of course I cried. And I stood there and looked around and I thought about the chaos of that day. And how could that possibly be that those events I saw on TV on September 11 had actually happened right here. I looked at the World Financial Center at the spot where the bridge used to connect to the Trade Center. It was now a huge window. I looked at One Liberty Plaza and I remembered my youth and the construction site and all the construction workers at lunch time of thirty years ago. I wonder if the people selling the wireless services and the coffee shop people were able to get out that day. And I wonder which people that took the train with me into the city everyday had died on September 11. How many of those people waiting to go up in the elevators were able to get out that day. So many memories wrapped up in this collection of buildings that no longer exist physically, but in my mind are so very vivid. The impact of what you no longer see on that sight is very powerful. I feel a pull on my heart. Nothing has ever touched me this way before. I will never forget it. I don't want to forget it and I don't want anyone else to forget it. I very rarely think of what I would have witnessed had I not moved to Florida in July of 2001. I know God had a hand in my leaving when I did. I remain obsessed with September 11, 2001, with the events and with the people who died and their families. I never ever think about the monsters who did it. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: On 9-11-01, I was up very early, about 5:30 pacific time. I was eating breakfast in front of the TV and I turned on the news. It took me a long time to really realize what was going on, at the time I had no idea that this was done on purpose. Once I realized that this was no accident I was so incredibly scared. I went to zero period that started at 6:30 pacific time and we watched the news in there. By this time only the first plane had hit, but as we were watching we saw the second plane hit. It was the most terrifying thing that I have ever seen, I honestly felt like I was watching a movie, I didn't want to believe that this was really happening. I just cant imagine what it would be like to be in those buildings, and finding no way out. I couldn't believe it when I saw those poor, innocent people jumping, choosing their death. I am so proud that we have courageous fireman and policeman that would give up everything for people This is a day that I will ALWAYS remember and I will forever pray for those people who lost their lives on 9-11. I forgot my money so I had to call my dad. Then when I was waiting in line to get my pic taken. It happened. I didnt know what was going on. I didnt see the first plane crash but I saw some re runs. When Linda announced it over the innercom I thought it was an accident. I never knew about Osama and that he's a terrorist. I ran down the hall into the CBE room thats where everyone was from my grade. I sat down near my Gym teacher. I then saw the first tower fall. I remember some people crying. Then I ran back cause I had to get my pic taken. I did it really fast so I could see what was going on. I was so surprised. Then I found out that they were terrorists. I was like "Why is this happening to our county?!" This is something I will NEVER forget! I remeber exactly what I was wearing and what I was doing and I remember EVERYTHING! I came home I felt sick to my stomache because I thought were all going to die or something. I thought it was the end of the world. Then I heard my mom say that my brother might have to go to war. I started crying and panicing. My brother was really panicing. He had a panic attack those few months. Then I thought we were going to run out of money. Since there was going to be a war. And gas prices going up. I watched the 9/11 special on tv 6 months ago(todays date:9/11/02) I started sobbing my eyes out. Especially when I saw the people fall. And just hearing them fall. I drove her every morning cause her school wasn't even 1 mile down the road. I usually dropped her off at about 8:10a.m. I was also 8 1/2 months pregnant, having gone through a terrible pregnancy. Our family lives in an apartment where the laundry room is a separate building at the entrance of the complex. We live on the second floor. I had tons of clothes to wash that day and it was just too much for me to go up and down the stairs, and drive back and forth to the laundry room, so my brother and his wife offered for me to bring my laundry over to their house. They said I could make myself at home, eat whatever I wanted, watch t.v., etc. while I did my washing. So after I dropped my daughter off at school, I went back and loaded up the car with laundry baskets and got on the highway. It was such a beautiful day! I had the windows down and I stared at the blue sky (that blue that not even Crayola can duplicate) and I turned the radio to a local station. On this radio station these d.j.'s are very comical, and never serious. They even crack jokes about very serious things. Well, they started talking about a plane crashing into the World Trade Center. At first I thought they were joking, but then I realized that the tone in their voices were serious. I thought at first that maybe it was a small cessna or something, then they started to say that there were reports of hijackings. I couldn't wait to get to my brother's to turn the t.v. on. By the time I got to my brother's house, I heard the report of the second tower being hit and got really scared. My eyes darted across the sky looking at jet streams and wondering if we were being attacked. I couldn't run fast enough into the house. The t.v. was off and I heard the shower running. My sister-in-law was getting ready for work in the bathroom and I spoke to her through the door. She had no idea! She rushed out of the bathroom and we turned the news on. My God! People jumping, the sound of sirens, people crying....Then WTC2 collapsed as we watched it happen. We didn't know what was happening. We held eachother and cryed. She said to me, "Why are they doing this to us?". She was with me until tower 1 collapsed, but then she had to go to work. I called my husband, a carpenter, who was listening to everything on his radio. I called my mother who had no clue about what was happening, hadn't even turned the t.v. on yet. Then I wondered if I should go pick my little girl up from school. But....I stayed. I folded laundry in front of the t.v. all day. I cried. I have not been the same person since. My son was born 11 days after that horrible day. His newborn picture was taken with him wearing a outfit with red, white and blue on it. Someday, I will tell him in great detail about what happened 11 days before he was born. I will make sure that he will never forget...so that no will. I was chitchating with a officer in our "nervecenter", and was watching CNN. Then the breaking news and LIVE...the first plane entered the WTC...damm....we were stund..then the sekond plane entered the sekond building at the WTC!!!. Then we knew that it was a coward act of terror. We was calling our chef, and later on we were on full alert in the camp (Camp Oluf Rye). Its was a terribel thing to see when the towers collapsed!!! I remember feeling sickened, but could not turn away from what was unfolding before me. Finally I had to leave the house for a doctor's appointment. When I arrived the receptionist and nurse were in tears. With the other's there in the waiting room, we all bowed our heads in prayer. Fear seemed to clutch at all of us. The appointment with the doctor was short and subdued. When I came out more people were in tears as news began to come of the people on the last flight that was headed for the White House had sacrificed their lives to over come the high jackers. The days and weeks to come were faced with a feeling of numbness in my home as we waited for news of loved ones who lived and worked near the Towers. God was good to my family - all were well and survived, yet there was a clouded feeling of joy - why had my family survived when so many others were lost? In this year that followed we have all become closer as we try to encourage each other to continue on with our daily lives. September 11th, 2001 will never be forgotten, the people who were lost will long be remembered for their sacrifice and acts of bravery. The thousands of volunteers who rushed to help are heros in their own right and should also always be remembered and honored. Tell us your story: On September 11, 2001, I was sitting in my second hour class when the door burst open, and a football player came in the room telling our teacher to turn on the news. We flipped through the channels as fast as we could until the image of two burning buildings was visible on the T.V. screen. Our whole class was in complete shock. I kept thinking to myself that this was just a movie, or a joke. It seemed impossible that anyone could attack our country so quickly, and inflict so much damage. Since that day I still feel un-safe, that if someone were willing, they would be able to hurt us again in a similar fashion. I thought that we were indestructable, unable to be harmed, especially by an aggressor that seems so technologically inferior and hopeless to defend themselves against us. I realize now how venerable we are, and that we have to remain strong and unified as a nation to overcome whatever obstacle set before us. On nine -eleven as going about daily chores my neighbor stopped by to relate that the WTC had been attacked. Since my T.V. was not on we immmediately turned it on to reveal the horrible truth. I was conducting my normal morning duties in preparation for taking care of the registered guests and seeing that everything was ready for the new guests who would be checking in that day. I answered the telephone, as usual, and it was the owner's daughter calling from Denver, Colorado, who asked to speak to her father, who is the owner of the motel. I immediately transferred it to his office where he was at work just through the doorway in his home. It seemed he had barely picked up the telephone when he called "Mary Lou, come look at this". I stepped through the doorway to see him motion to the television set that he had just turned on as instructed by his daughter. I got there just in time to see the second plane hit, listen to the news reporters, and of course, watch the play back of the video of the first plane to hit the Twin Towers. There was very little conversation between him and his daughter since she had simply called to make sure we were watching the breaking news. We just stood there with our eyes glued to the TV in disbelief of what we had just witnessed and was fearful of what might have been yet to come. I will never forget the bone-chilling feeling that came over me as I saw what had happened and knew that this would cause the loss of numerous lives. I just said a prayer for all those people who were totally unaware of any danger about them as their lives were taken from them all too suddenly by the cunning of someone evil. I also thought of my son who is now a Command Master Chief in the United States Navy, and who has proudly served his country for the past 22 years in the United States Navy. I said a prayer for him and all of his military comrades who would be pressed into high alert to protect all of us. We owe our military, the fire fighters and the clean up crew a special thanks and our gratitude for all they have endured since that fateful day. They are far from being finished with their work of what is necessary to protect our people. My ultimate prayer is still that our nations will all unite in peace and there will be no more terrorism anywhere. Tell us your story: September 11 was our second day of training for our employer.My husband and I both were attending the class when the attack on the first World Trade Center building took place. One of the students in our class was on active army duty, and received a page about the attack. At first we all took it as a joke, considering the man was a kidder. Then we felt it was probably an accident.He received two more pages about the other WTC building and the Pentagon. A moment of silence befell on all. We knew this was no accident.I didn't want to believe this was true, and all I could think about was our 7 month old daughter. When a fourth page came about the wandering plane that later crashed in a field, I was ready to go home. My husband and I immediately rushed to get our daughter and get home. When we saw the news it was totally different from hearing it. We cried and couldn't stop for days. I kept apologizing to my daughter because I felt so bad to bring her into a world like this. Our anniversary is on September 16, and we found it impossible to celebrate last year. We just couldn't grasp that this was our new reality; that we are now a part of history repeating itself. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was watching the Today Show on NBC. Matt Lauer was doing an interview with a book author. Matt was interrupted and they showed the first tower on fire. Like everyone else I thought maybe a cessna sized plane accidentally crashed into the WTC tower. Minutes later while watching it live on tv I saw the 2nd plane smash right into the second tower. I was in shock and was hoping it was just an illusion. Since I had to go to work I missed the second tower collapsing and found out after dropping my daughter by the babysitters. When the news stated the pentagon had been attacked I did get worried and all I could think of was war. I was really saddened when I heard about the plane in Shanksville, PA.
