A few days prior to Memorial Day 2001 vintage aircraft from America's past armed conflicts flew a route down the Hudson river with the backdrop of NYC. Shown here is a WWII B-17 bomber returning North, passing the world Trade Center, after circling the Statue of Liberty while waggling it's wings. Two powerful images of America from two different ages. ]]></dcterms:description>

Light music, poetry, pictures of the missing, candles and flowers abound in an effort to somehow ease the pain. Dr. Seuss' book placed by someone illustrates the emotion of a story of love and encouragment and the growing of a heartless soul - the Grinch. ]]></dcterms:description>

It is a picture of the world trade center buildings.. before all the bad things happened. This is the way I see the buildings in my mind. Even with all the lives lost, our American spirit will still shine down on the world no matter what, and our freedom can never be destroyed. Never give up hope of a brighter future. And to all the families who lost someone on 9/11, my heart goes out to you, even though it can not heal all your pain.]]></dcterms:description>

In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11, attacks people created impromptu shrines and held candlelight vigils throughout the nation's capital. This is one of the shrines that popped up over night. This shrine was interactive, inviting members of the community to add their thoughts to the large canvas affixed to the wall.]]></dcterms:description>
