Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: September 11th was a totally normal day for me that year. School had just started, and I was liking sixth grade. That morning we were having our lesson as usual, when our teacher got a phone call. After answering the call with a look of confusion and slight alarm, he went to the back of the class and turned on the TV to the breaking news. We watched for an hour. I didn't even really pay attention... I didn't process what was happening. For some reason the information refused to compute in my head. One after another, kids from our class started getting picked up by parents. Since a lot of the kids' moms and dads worked for the government and in the Pentagon, the fact that the Pentagon was hit was especially troublesome. Then, my mom came and got me. When we got home, she told me she didn't know where my dad was. We tried to call him over and over, but the cell phone lines weren't working. Neither were the land lines. I sat in front of my house for four hours just waiting for him to come home. That's when it all hit. I cried and cried. He eventually came home, much to my family's delight.
