Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I recall very vivid memories of that horrific day. I was 6 months pregnant with my twin daughters. I was at work, walking through the office, when I heard the receptionist page me to say I had a phone call. I walked into an empty office to take the call. It was my husband to say that 2 planes had hit the World Trade Center and they think it was an act of terrorism. It didn't really sink in until I started walking back to my cubicle and realized what my husband had said. I then ran back to the area where my desk was and yelled to my co-workers what had happened. We turned the radio on to the local news station. I started hearing reports that there was a hijacked plane over Washington DC. Then I heard the dreadful news that the Pentagon was hit. A feeling of panic came over me as I thought about my father who worked at Ronald Reagan National Airport. I tried to call him to ask him to leave. I made 3 or 4 attempts and no one answered the phone. Finally, someone picked up the phone and I asked to speak to Danny and the voice on the other end told me he was on vacation that week. That was when I fell apart. Then, I tried to call my dad at home. No one answered. Finally, I reached him. He had just woken up and had no idea of what was going on. I sobbed on the phone to him and told him I was greatful that he was alright. I think he thought I was going to go into labor right there. My supervisor came through the office and told everyone to go home. I recall the eerie drive to my sister-in-law's house to pick up my 2 1/2 year old son. I felt like Henny-Penny, waiting for the sky to fall. When I arrived, he was eating lunch with his cousin and they were talking about their next trip to Disney World and how they weren't going to be affraid of the characters. It was so peaceful and innocent. I felt calmness coming over my entire body. I made my way over to my parents house, where my sister and her husband were along with my husband. I hugged my Dad like I've never hugged him before. I know how horrified I was even though my family was safe and sound. I can only imagine how all the people felt; the one's who lost family and friends and co-oworkers or escaped the callapsing building or the people who watched in horror as people jumped from the building or the ones who spoke to their loved ones just moments before they met their deaths.
