Only at the 7.00am news I faintly heard on my alarm radio about planes flying into the World Trade Centre..I only pictured one of those little single passenger planes going out of control...Anyway shot out to the lounge to see it on CNN!...by then it had already been almost 5-6 hours since the first plane hit. Anyway, from then on I was glued to the TV for the next several days. Later that day I saw on my mobile 17 missed calls from my sister in Kuala Lumpur. She had frantically trying to get me to watch the drama live! But what was most haunting to me over the next several days was not so much what had happened. It was more what I saw on the faces of the people I saw on the screen. The screen moving from images in New York and then crossing continents to show faces of those in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestine, Indonesia and Malaysia. You could see hate and anger on one and sombre reflection love and respect in another. That more than anything is what has been cast in my mind more than anything else.
