Tell us your story: Driving to work that morning, down Rt.9 at about 6:30AM, I remember thinking to myself, what a beautiful day it was going to be. The weather had been so hot in the Hudson Valley during the summer, and it was such a relief to have it cooler with low humidity. I remember thinking it was the first day that you could feel Autumn was on the way. I had a lot of outside chores to do once I got done with work at 4:00PM and was thinking how refreshing the sun and breeze will be after being cooped up all day in the office/plant. I was on the mfg floor, working on one of the automated tools when a buddy stopped and asked if I had heard about the plane that hit one of the WTC towers. I told him that I had not, but made a mental note to check the CNN site when I got back to my office. A half hour later, I found myself sitting in one of the conference rooms at the end of my aisle with 40 other folks and watched as the 2nd plane crashed into the other tower. I don't think a lot of the folks watching grasped the seriousness or even reality of what they were witnessing, even as the 1st tower that was struck, fell to the ground. It was so outrageous, so unbelieveable. After watching the 2nd tower fall, I went back to my desk, quite shaken, and not sure what to do. After getting some news from the CNN website, I decided that I had better finish my work day. The drive home was terrible.
