I was sitting in my office discussing the resurfacing of the flight deck on the USS Roosevelt. We had CNN on, and they interupted their scheduled programs to bring live coverage of the WTC and Pentagon attacks. 2.Has your life changed because of September 11th? If so, tell us how. Yes. It seems that we have a lot more support from the American public for the military than we had previously. While the country suffered a great loss, it does, in some ways, seem to have brought many groups of Americans closer. 3.What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? Despite the day-to-day tribulations (i.e. bad traffic, long lines...) we are one country and can rise as a whole to any occasion...as one country. It was demonstrated in Pennsylvania, the Pentagon, and the WTC that any American amy be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice for their country. 4.Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? We flew the American flag after September 11th, on September 11th, and before September 11th. The American flag is, and always has been, a symbol of our country's greatness- I will always feel pride, respect, and at the same time a sense of loss for those who have lost their lives in defense of the flag and the country it represents.
