I was sitting in my English classroom, just going through my regular routine; little did I know that it wasn't going to be just a regular routine that day. A few upperclassmen come in and tell my teacher to quickly turn the television on. She told them she would later and that we were busy. But I saw it through the window of another classroom: the air attack on the Twin Towers in New York. It didn't seem real at all. It looked like some special graphics from a movie or something but it was real. And it hit a little too close to home for me.

I am the type of person that hates to hear of people dying, whether I know them or not, but I usually never cry. But as I said; that day wasn't going to be just a regular routine. I usually don't pray for God's blessings upon the souls of those lost; but it was a different situation. I dealt with crying, praying, and patriotism for weeks and it was like an experience I've never felt before. I was scared and proud at the same time. Scared that it could happen again, proud of those brave souls who helped crash a plane so it couldn't make it to its Washington D.C. destination. I also prayed that I could be more like them if I ever had to be in such a situation.
