Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I remember that it was in at first my 1st hour French class. Some teacher walked by about 7:55 (8:55 NY time)and said that something's or someone's attacking New York City. Then I went to my 2nd hour history class. We turned on the T.V. and sure enough they had the Trade Towers on it. My entire class went silent. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. Some of us started to cry because they had either been there recently, in the towers or just to New York City. But the worst part had to have been when we were all watching in other hours, and then seeing the second plane hit. Again, we all went silent for we had not idea and then when the news mentioned that it was probably the works of terroists, someone said Bin Lauden. Sure enough he was right. When then the towers began to colapse, we were agian like "Oh My God!". We just couldn't stop looking at the news. To me, it didnt seem like it was real, that America couldnt be under attack because we had the best military there is. It's like we were watching some movie that seemed very true, but it was only fictional.Then the death numbers started coming in and that really scared us. At first with the estimates of 5,000 dead? That was rediculus but then the realistic of the 3,000 was horrible. One is too many, let alone 3,000 lost. It was inhumaine and unrealistic to us all. Then coming home was worse becasue it was all that was on. Things were unreal to us, and the replays didnt seem to make it any more real to us. Just seeing when the two towers fell, and the second plane hitting is something that will remembered until I die. But then seeing the actual site brougt the realism to us all. We were shocked, stunned and in mourning for all those who had been there, those who parished, and those who lost thier loved ones on that fateful day.
