Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: Each year in September Pope AFB and Ft. Bragg sponsor a military retirees golf tournament. In 2002 my wife, Deloris and I, were playing in the tournament. Just shortly before noon the foursome I was with finished the 9th hole and went into the club house to get a drink and sandwich before finishing the back nine. When we got in the club house we noticed everyone glued to the TV set. That was my first notice of the attacks. Being military retirees the comments being made cannot be repeated here. Suffice to say that they consisted of explaining what was to happen to the lowlifes who caused the attack. We were all told to go out and finish the round and we would be given more information when we came in. We all knew that the tournament was over and the military would be going on full alert. Needless to say we were not too interested in playing golf. Our group played the 10th hole and then returned to the club house to watch the news. We all felt that the perpetrators had no idea of the wrath that was going to come down on them. We were right.
