911DA Story: Story
How did you witness history on September 1th? Share your experience.
"I was at school and the principal came around and said there had been an incident in New York and we were not allowed to turn on a TV in front of any children. By eleven AM, parents were coming and pulling their kids out of class. I guess it was about 2:30 before I knew the full magnitude about what had happened."
Has your life changed because of September 11,2001? If so, tell us how.
"I guess I would say I am more aware of the lack of control in certain areas of our lives. I probably watch my surroundings more closely, realize that the United States is... I wouldn't say not loved... probably a target of terrorism.
What do you think should be remembered about September 11th?
"Well, the people that sacrificed their lives for our country, especially those on the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania because they knew wat was happening. The people that died in the towers never had the chance to make a decision. And when we work together we can overcome great tragedy, not forget it.
Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feeling about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th?
"Yeah, I had one on the car. No, my feelings haven't changed because I have always honored and respected it.
