Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I LOST MY GRANDMOTHER ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001. HERE IS MY STORY. I woke up Tuesday September 11, 2001 and logged onto AOL to check my email. That is when I saw that the World Trade Center had been hit by a plane. I figured it was a twin-engine plane or something of that nature. An accident. However, I was wrong. It was TERRORISM. I was very shaken up. I was in tears and couldn't tear myself from the news. I tried to contact my loved ones, however cell phones were not working that day. I couldn't get through to my family. It was an emotional day. I was drained. By about 1:30 pm I settled down in my living room. I called out of work and closed my eyes, and finally went to sleep. My home phone rang around 2:00pm. It was my Aunt Cindy in Colorado. She told me my Grandmother had died of a heart attack! I was devastated. I was very close to my grandmother. The onsite nurse had found her in her apartment around 9:20 am. She was lying on the floor with her television remote control in her hand. CNN was on. My Grandmother was an avid CNN watcher. I know she had a heart attack as a result of what she watched on tv that morning. I am sure others have loved ones who passed in a similar way. My condolences go out to ALL families who lost a loved one on 9/11. I will never forget that day as long as I live. My gradmother is missed and I think of her EVERY day!!!!!!!
