I had planned a surprise 70th birthday for my husband. We were just boarded on a flight to Newark. We had dinner reservations at Windows on the World and hotel reservations at the hotel at World Trade Center. My son and daughter -in -law were meeting us in New York. We had theater tickets , a car rental to take us to the Baseball Hall of Fame, baseball tickets to the White Sox-Yankee game. I had planned this surprise for 6 months. We were already on the plane and we were not told anything about what was happening. We were just told to get off the plane --all tvs and news were shut off. O Hare airport was in lock down mode
and it was hours before we found out what had happened
