Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I remember where I was on Sptember 11th, 2001. We were in Psychology class, fourth period, and Mr. Williams had just finished up his lesson. Mr. Rotundi came in the room to speak to Mr. Williams. He whispered something in his ear, and then left. We paid little attention to this, as we were just glad that another lesson was over. After Mr Rotundi had left, however, Mr. Williams addressed the entire class, saying that two airplanes hit the two towers of the World Trade Center. At first, we thought that maybe it was just a joke; a mind game that Mr. Williams was playing with us. There was a lot of denial. As the day progressed, however, we learned more about the attacks and that there had been more attacks than only the World Trade Cneter bombings. The fact that a plane came down in Pennsylvanis scared us, as the school is probably less than fifteen miles from the New York-Pennsylvania border. I remember how everybody forgot their personal problems and was focused on their television sets for the rest of the day, and even afterwards. Most of us didn?t even do our homework that night. Although it was a terrible and unforgivable act of violence, it did something that no leader could ever do on his own. It brought a nation together. Congress even agreed with the President, for once. It was ironic. The worst tragedies seem to be the only things that bring everyone closer together.
