911DA Story: Story
As a former Marine, when I heard that the twin towers had been bombed, my first instinct was to say bomb the whole country. It did not matter that innocent people would be killed also I just wanted retribution.
My first instinct overrode the fact that I was a christian. I had to take a step back and realize that it was not up to me to put a whole country to death for what a few people had done.
Today that instinct is still there. I woke up this morning remembering and wanting a country to disappear again. I had to once again take a step back. God was dealing with me.
Today has been a blaugh day for me, but I really mourn for all of the people who lost loved ones in New York. I pray that God can bring some healing into their lives.
September 11, 2001 was tragic, but it also brought our country closer together, and that is something positive.
The country is in my prayers. God Bless America!!!
