Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was at work at one of the local hospitals in our High Desert area. I was working the graveyard shift of 12 midnight till 7 am, It was ahout 5:30 AM pst and we had the radio on in the office but barely adudible. I thought i overheard the DJ say something about a plane hitting the World Trade Center in NYC. I turned up the volume and the Newa was repeated. Suddenly, I began to panic. I am a Native New Yorker and my sister ( last i heard) worked in the Verizon building behind the twin towers,I rushed home and awoke my sleeping family and we turned on the TV, the TOday show. We couldn't believe what we saw and immediately I tried to call back East and find out about the whereabouts of my Sister and her Fiance. All circuits were busy and it took close to 3 days before we foumd out that she and her Fiance were OK. They both had to walk across the 59th St Bridge to get a connection to their home in Far Rockaway Queens.
