Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: As the day started, it seemed to be perfectly normal. As I went to my first class, which happened to be history with Mr. Herzig, we did completely normal activities and normal work, and no one had absolutely any idea what was about to happen that day. I then went to my second class of the day, one of the most boring; chemistry. After we got about fifteen minutes into the period, Dr. Smith came onto the PA system and had told us that there had been plane crashes in both New York City, and in Washington D.C. At that time, the entire school turned on their televisions in horror to find out that middle-eastern terrorists had hijacked planes and deliberately crashed them into the Pentagon and both of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Everyone was so shocked that they stopped what they were doing to find out anymore information that may have been recovered. All of that horrible information that was given at one time resulted in everyone not doing anything for the rest of the day. As the day continued, there were so many emotions going on at one time. We watched as the news anchors from every news channel reported for hours and hours, trying to uncover more information. Meanwhile, the phone bills in D.C. and New York were off the charts with people trying to call their loved ones to make sure they were alright. A fellow student of mine was very upset because both his parents work at the Pentagon, and was trying to call them, but they were alright. That night my family and I drove to D.C. to see the Pentagon. September 11th is a day America will never forget.
