I was on vacation that week. I got in the shower with a list of things I had to do that day in my head. The phone rang. I figured it was telemarketers. Then again, then again. I thought it was strange that the phone was ringing so much. When I got out of the shower I checked the caller ID. There was calls from my mother and my fiance. I called my fiance back first. He told me to turn on the TV. I turned it on in time to see both towers in flames before they fell. I called my mom back as I watched in horror. She asked me to call my brother and make sure he was at work and safe. I called him. He was. Then I called the school to check on my fiances kids. They were safe and school would not be closing. I just sat there. I forgot all the things I wanted to do that day. I called my job to make sure noone was on any flights that morning. We live in a flight path for the Air Force base. Ususally you hear planes quite often. I remember looking outside. It was so strange that not one flight was going over. That never happened. I was so dump founded. I don't think I really comprehended what was going on. I was absolutely mortified. I feel horrible for all the people who lost loved ones in this tragedy. I am very grateful my family remains safe. I will never forget...No one should...
