Tell us your story: on september 11,2001 i was just getting home from bringing my kids to school and i switched on the tv. what i saw horrified me. i wanted to go straight back to school and get my children so they could be safe at home with me. since we live near a major port i was concearned about our saftey. my husband works offshore on an oilrig ,in the gulf of mexico, and i was afraid he was in danger. when he finally called to let me know he was ok, i was relieved.but he was stuck out there. no helicopters or boats were allowed to go in or out.as i sat and watched the news all day and heard the reports of everything going on my fear grew.when i went to get my kids from school i learned that they also watched the news all day. i have a 6 yr. old, a 9 yr old and a 16 yr. old.they were all terrified that we were going to be bombed.thats when i realized the pure evil of the situation. my children will never forget this and neither will i.i am happy to say that i have seen more patriotism in the last year since this tradgedy took place and that americans as well as other nationalities have united and stood together. the terrorist may have hurt us but they will not come between us. we will not be defeated.
