911DA Story: Story

I woke up the morning of September 11, and something just told me to turn on the Television. I never got up in the morning and turned on the TV, I usually read or meditated. During this time, I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter, and also helping one of my friends cope with her brother joining the Army and being deployed to England for three years. I turned on the television, and the first image I saw was the plane flying into the side of the WTC. I couldn't believe it. My hands immediately sheltered my unborn child and I immediately fell to my knees and began to pray for the obvious casualties that this had incurred. My eyes stayed glued to the television. I had to go to work that day, and I knew that it was for the best, I needed to be around people who loved and cared about me. We all stood in silence as the towers fell, and a coworker and I got down on our knees in the middle of the office and prayed for the ones who were lost and also that God would allow some to live and be found in the rubble. The next few days were very hard for me. I went into preterm labor due to the stress of the event. I was put on bedrest, and during that time the only thing for me to do was sit at home and watch the events unfold on the television. Ever since that day, I pray every morning and night for the souls of the lost, and for our President. I plan on sharing this story with my daughter someday, and hope she holds the same reverance for those people who I never knew, but hold so dear in my heart.
