Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was working at a collection agency in Bethlehem,Pa. I was collecting on cell phone accounts and calling New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and DC. As some of us were waiting for the calls to go threw a guy sitting across the isle from me said that a lady had just told him that a plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center. He thought the lady was joking until one of the other girls said that someone had just told her that too. Alot of us started to get worried, about that time our supervisor came out and said that another plane had just crashed into the towers. During this time we were still trying to make calls to the city and the surrounding areas with no luck. That is when our managers decided that it was time to shut down the dialing system. We were sent to break early and I went online to see if I could fine anything out. I remember it took a really long time to get online but when I finally did I saw pictures that scared me. During our break the Pentagon was hit and when we came back from break we were told to go down to the main floor to meet with our managers. By the time we got down there they were telling everybody to leave, we were in an office building, 21 stories tall and less than a half a mile from the Lehigh Valley International Airport. I remember that that 40 min. ride home seemed like it took forever and when I drove by the airport it was completely still. It was erie. On my way home the first tower collapsed and I was glued to the tv when the second one came down. I have not worked in an office building since then. All I have to say to end this is that I hope I nobody has to go threw that again.
