Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: September 11 has always been a special day for me because I was born 9/11/43. I was receiving birthday wishes over the phone from a friend when the 2d plane struck. I could only sit and watch in awe and then in anger. I had $33.00 in my checking account so I wrote a check for $13.00 to the Red Cross and hoped it would make a difference. All the victims of this horrible act were innocent and were not prepared for what happened to them. Their families were not prepared and while we as a Nation will go on, the families of the fallen will never be the same.I was holding my daughter then 2 months old in my arms and saw how helpless and dependent upon me she was. I also thought how helpless this entire country felt because we were in a state of shock and fear. Now a year later, she is still too young to understand so today I began a diary of what we did together, what she ate, her diaper rash, just little things to leave her from me. I also want to explain to her that September 11, is not just a special day for Daddy but a day that brought this nation closer together and it is a special day for this Nation.
