Tell us your story: My husband had just got our daughter on the school bus and sat down to watch the news, when the Today show was interupted with news that the World Trade Center had been hit by an air plane. I do believe it was the north tower. He rushed into our bedroom and said Christy you have to wake up the World Trade Center was hit by a air plane.My first reaction was you're lying. He then insisted I get up and look for myself. by the time I got out of bed,pulled some clothes on and made my way out to the living room the a second air plane had hit the other tower.I stood there in complete and utter shock. My mouth was dropped and my heart sank to think that there were people sitting at thier desks just doing thier jobs to make a living and now how many of them are dead or in agony trying to fight for their lives.I asked myself how could this happen? Over and over I asked myself. It was then that I realized the only way this could happen was if someone planned it. It was no accident! But why?Why so many innocent people? Mothers,fathers,sons, daughters,brothers,sisters,grandfathers,grandmothers,husbands and wives.Such a great loss to thier families and friends. Such a great loss to our country.Then the worst thing in my mind happened. It was announced that their was more planes hijacked, One coming toward Cleveland.and then the pentagon was hit, and then a plane went down in Shanksville, Pa. My husband looked at me and said "we are under attack, This is war" We then called our daughters school and asked what their plan of emergancy was.They said we are offer the parents the choice of picking their childern up from school. So we did. We wanted our children to know what happened and to realize what an important part of history this will one day be.but at the same time trying to use discretion. Today is the one year anniversary of the attack and I feel no more comfort than I did the day it happened. It still makes me cry when I think about all the children who lost fathers and mothers. and families who lost loved ones. I know time heals all wounds but it will take a longtime to heal this wound!
