Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: Hi: MY name is Barbara Cisternas and want to share my story with you. I was at home in Elmhurst Queens when the 1st and 2nd attack occured I was dressing for work that morning and of course watching the news, when the video came on of the 1st tower was hit with the first airplane at first I thought it was an accident. Then the news was life from WTC the 2nd plane hit the next tower that's when I realized New York City was under attack. I dressed immediately went to get my daughter Krystle out of elmentary school then walked over to my sons middle school and signed out my son Dexter. Called my husband to find out where he was working that day his boss drove him home that morning. I was crying almost for 2 weeks after the attack what broke my heart the most is watching the people hanging out the windows and jumping to their death. When we were attacked a piece of all New Yorkers tumbled with our beautiful towers, I remember working at World Finicial Center #3 and walking through the towers to get there from the E train subway Chambers St, back in 1996. After the first attack of 1993 on the WTC. Shopping was such a pleasureable experience at WTC the WinterGardens was so pretty during flower shows in spring. Like I said a piece of me is gone our sense of security destroyed I believed we were untouchable ,but I guess I was wrong , to all the famlies that has lost their loved god bless you and NYC is grieving along with you.
