It started out like any other day, no one knew that things would change forever that morning. I was heading out the door to do some shopping when the special report came on. I stopped for a secondto watch and thought a plane had hit the tower by accident, and then the second one hit and I couldn't even think, I remember just standing there in front of the tv thinking My God! what's happening? I made a few phone calls to family members and they all met at the house that evening. Growing up in 50's and 60's I guess we all thought we were ammuned to such attacks and it's hard to think that anyone could impart such evil and create such devestation. Our thinking was forever changed. We were not invincable. It's been a long year, having two sons in the military, one in the Navy and one in the Army. You the time will come when they will be deployed to another land infested with madmen. That time for my oldest son is Sept.16,2002 One year later. I will not know where he is. But I do know I feel honored to know our country is in the hands of men and women like him who feel priviledged to serve and protect the freedom and rights of others. God bless them all and be with each of them.
