Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: The morning oif September 11, 2001, my children woke me up stating" Mom we are under attack". I did not believe them, so I got up and listened to the redio and really started to feel the feeling of fear. How could anyone do theis to the people of the WTC. The kids continued to get ready for scholl, as I for work, as we continued to listen to the radio in disbelief. Living here in Hawaii we are so far away and the hours of difference, we still feel the closeness and sorrow of what was happening. We got in the car, stil listened to the radio on the way to school and work. When I dropped my children at their high school i told them anything else happens please call me on my cell. They just looked at me with that look of fear and disbelieve. I continued to listen to the radio on the way to work. I clean homes for a living and every tuesday I go to the same home. When I reached work and went into the home I felt very uncomfortable. I heard cries of fear and sorrow. I cna not mention names but, one of those who lived at this home had her best friend working at the WTC at the restaurant on top of the WTC. She was just screaming in sorrow and just kept calling persons in New York trying to find out information, which she ws getting none. Every time she hung up the phone she just got worse with the crying and screaming of not knowing what happened to her friend if she was there in the WTC, was her friend alive or dead. I started to feel her sorrow and thinking how all the families and friends of those in the WTC at this moment are feeling the same way. Even though I knew no one at the WTC, I felt so much sorrow and fear I started to fall apart myself and the tears started to come out. I had to live the home of my clients after only being there for 30 minutes. I could not handle the anquish of this person. Even as I left I started to cry in my car and had to pull over on the road. Just thinking of those innocent people that just died and the suffering of families and friends of those people not knowing what has happened to them. Living here in Hawaii we are far away from everything but we have the same strong spirit as the rest of the country. With in days I never saw so many flags flying before, at homes, businesses, cars, every where. This day may have touched me different than many here in Hawaii, and I will never forget that feeling I felt on September 11, 2001.
