Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: My name is Shirley Presley Iam from Charleston Mississippi and I work at the Tallahatchie County Library in Charleston. On September 11 I was in the library workroom stamping books. My supervisor Shirley Williams had turn on the t.v. to watch the new. A new special came across the station showing that one of the twin tower had been hit by an airplane. I could not beleive my eyes, about 5 mintues later a second plane hit the other tower, it was like looking at a movie. I could not beleive it, it did not seem real to me. The horror of watching those planes hit the twin towers and knowing that innocent people was on the planes and in the towers. It was like watching death before my eyes. Two telephone worker came running in library shouting "do you have a televison, we heard on the radio that the twins tower had been struck by a airplane." They came into the workroom and saw that we were looking at the news on the t.v. and took a seat to watch with us. All of a sudden the announcer switched to the pentagon and it was on fire, the newman said the another airplane had hit it also. we was at oz at what was going on, why was this happening, who hated america so bad that they would do this. They switched back to the twins tower, and we were watching the t.v. and one of the tower starts to fall,oh my God we all starts to shouting at the same time "look the tower is falling." I was so upset it literally scared me to see this happen I started to praying to God for the people and to watch over all. september 11 is a day I will never forget. needless to say we did not do a lots of work that day.
