Title A name given to the resource September 11 Digital Archive Stories Description An account of the resource This collection is the bulk of the archive, representing the reactions and experiences of thousands of individuals beginning in 2002. 911DA Story 911DA Story: Story Tell us about what you did, saw, or heard on September 11th. Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was at work at 6:00 am when a co-worker came in and told us of the events as they began. We had no TV but turned on the radio and listened as the towers were hit, fell, and as the Pentagon was hit, and the plane in Pennsylvania crashed. It was hard to imagine the devastation listening to the radio without seeing the images. The reporters, however, were in an almost panicked state and we could only visualize what was happening. I work 5 blocks from the state capitol building and we were sent home about 9:00 am. I immediately went to get my four year old daughter and even she understood what had happened when she saw the images on TV. This year, I reminded her what happened a year ago today, but I won't allow her to watch TV. I can't bear to watch myself. My heart goes to all the families and to the children who no longer have a mom, dad, or both. Peace.
