Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I was in transit from Batavia, NY to Canaseraga, NY to where I was working at the time. I had just shut off the radio because there were only talk shows on and put a tape in the player. After I had gotten to work I heard about the first Twin Tower. My first reaction was are you for real....after the second Twin Tower was hit we all knew there was something serious going on. My first thought was to my son then in Newport News, VA aboard the USS Nimitz. Would he have to go to war....he was only 20 at the time. My second thought was to my children....are they okay? What have they heard so far and are they frantically worried about their brother? My son called me from the ship to let know he was okay but was not sure what really was going on. I only had to work for a few hours that day and left for home at 11. When I got home my 15 had called and left several messages worried about her brother....my 18 year son also called from college for me to go get him early. My younger children really did not understand much of the situation except that something bad had happened and that their brother in the Navy was not far away from where it had happened. We all talked about what happened, watched the news report but still could not believe such a thing could happen. When we went to bed that night....my 18 year old came into the room in a panic saying there were planes flying overhead...... The feeling of security was gone........
