For whatever their reasons the government is giving billions to protect the airlines, but they also made a promise to the American people, that seems to be falling short., The victims of the Arab Muslim attacks of Sep. 11th were told they would be compensated for their loss. They promised to help them. Now it seems that their "help" actually leaves them in a worse position than if the government had not interceded. Time to make it right.
