In other words, gay and lesbian partners are penalized due to discrimination by their respective states. Is this really how we want to honor such heroes and , both gay men, who responded courageously in the midst of the tragedy? I urge you on behalf of the integrity of the United States to give equal access to the gay and lesbian survivors who lost partners on September 11. Thank you.
