9/11 compensation fund

We were appalled to learn that compensation for the 9/11 attack on America is being withheld from the families of Gay and Lesbian victims. Are they not victims also? Are you so ingrained in your beliefs that you can't see the obvious unfairness, and un-American-ness of this decision? How can one group, including Gay and Lesbian heroes that gave their lives helping others or fighting against the terrorists, be the only group excluded? If we do this dastardly deed, we are no better than the Talliban that imposed their beliefs on everyone. If we start nibbling away at justice and equality, who will be next?
