I believe that in signing this Bill they want to protect the Airlines AND take care of the families. I believe that Me. Feinberg is trying to save the government money and that perhaps he thinks he is being fair. I believe that the current system penalizes those families that did the right thing and put money aside for insurance, retirement and other savings. I believe that the People of the United States want the families of the September 11th Tragedy to be supported financially. The way the system is currently set up the current salary of the family member who perished would not be factored into the calculation rather an average of the last 3 years. What about those who just received a huge promotion? I believe information to the public is inaccurate and therefore the public believes our government is financially supporting the families. THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!!!! Please do not penalize families that did the right thing. Please make sure every family is taken care of by this fund. Don't subtract non-economic loss. The pain and suffering these families have endured is real. They will live with this loss for the rest of their lives. Since it has been determined that families should be compensated for their loss then why turn around and DEDUCT it from their economic loss? Preserve this compensation and protect it. The amount of $50,000 per child for pain and suffering is way too low. These children have to live with the tragic loss of their parent for the rest of their lives. Increase this amount. Please recalculate your formula. Give to each family; don't subtract anything! Make sure each family will be taken care of financially. This is what we want, this is what we believe you are doing and this is what you SHOULD do. Please take care of the families!
