Wednesday, March 27, 2002 9:53 PM Final Ruling on Compensation March 28, 2002 As a Canadian, I was very heartened to read all the comments posted on this site by US citizens to protest your government's ignorant and unconscionable discrimination against gay members of society. Apparently it is seen as politically OK to single out gays and lesbians and deny them and their loved ones compensation like everyone else affected by the terrorist attack. It is good to know that so many ordinary people value the American ideal even if your so-called leaders do not. Keep up the fight. You may yet catch up to other western democracies who can only look on with amazement at the extraordinary irrational homophobia that grips some vocal minorities in the US (alas including the Republican government).
