Tuesday, March 12, 2002 7:41 PM Compensation for gay partners I read a shocking article today which implied that gay partners of September 11 victims will not receive the same benefits as their hetereosexual counterparts. If this is true, I am very saddened. I am a female who happens to be hetereosexual, but I have many friends who happen to be be gay. I admire them tremendously and would hope that their partners would receive their due had my friends been victims of terrorism. Apparently the administrator of the Sept. 11 fund spoke on Meet the Press this weekend and made it clear that if homosexual unions were not recognized by states, he would not recognize them either. That is the most ridiculous statement I've heard. I doubt there are many citizens of the United States who would not want gay partners to receive compensation for their loss. Get with it!
