Wednesday, March 13, 2002 9:41 AM Compensation for Gay/Lesbian Survivors I cannot believe this fund will purposefully overlook gay/lesbian survivors because the state in which they reside may/may not recognize their relationships. I for one am very angry over this issue. I live in a state (Georgia) that doesn't recognize my relationship with my partner of 20+ years. If something happened to me in that manner, I would want him to receive the same compensation as all the other families. This situation is the very reason I did not contribute to the fund. As much as I grieved for everyone, I knew gays/lesbians would be discriminated against. Therefore, I gave to an organization that would help people like myself. I'm ashamed of Mr. Feinberg's comments on Meet the Press. Someone should have run a plane into him.
