    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Drifting hundreds of miles above the eastern sea board of the United States on September 11, 2001, the MODIS instrument aboard NASA&#039;s &quot;Terra&quot; satellite (operated by the Goddard Space Flight Center - http://modis.gsfc.nasa.gov) captured a striking image of Hurricane Erin.  Upon closer inspection, a plume of smoke can be seen emanating from Manhattan - a chilling testament to the magnitude of the World Trade Center collapse.  I added some descriptive text and a close-up of New York City, for clarification.  The original image can be found here: <br />
