<dcterms:description>This image was taken at dusk on September 11 from the front porch of my house in Norwalk, CT, which is on Norwalk Harbor, an inlet of Long Island Sound. At the top right of the frame, the plume of smoke from the World Trade Center site can be seen above the treeline drifting from right to left and culminating in a huge, gauzy cloud off to the southwest. Our house faces due west and were it not for the change in wind pattern that day, the smoke plume would have been blown directly toward us since the typical winds off the water come from that direction.
Our house is almost 50 miles as the crow flies from the World Trade Center site. </dcterms:description>
