<text>A Canadian Point of View of the Day the World Changed Forever

Like all other Canadians and people of the free world, I was forever changed by the tragic events, which took place in my neighbouring country the United States of America on 11th September 2001. My thoughts of grief and pain are measured graphically as I enhance the true meaning behind both Canada's and United States national flags through an original design I created in tribute to these horrific events. The design contains the following symbolism:

·	The Canadian Flag standing beside the American Flag is represented though the red glow from the red maple leaf flame and the red candle which also represents peace and unity and how intertwined our two countries are.

·	The planes under the date represents the innocent victims forever lost note 2 are in front of New York.

·	The band of 24 Maple Leafs under 11th September 2001represents the 24 Canadian lives lost in the attacks. The three other people with close Canadian connections were also killed are also represented with the 3 remaining Maple Leafs in the design (the candle flame and on the 2 tribute ribbons).

·	The recognition of the incredible heroism shown by the numerous rescue workers (Red Cross, EMT, Police Department, K9 Teams, Fire Department, Construction and Iron Workers and the various military branches).

·	The 4 red poppies reflect the 4 planes hijacked (note the three are grouped to represent the crashes into the buildings and the single one represents the lone plane than was diverted through heroic efforts). We cant and will never forget the lives lost on 11th September 2001 and the lives lost in memory of that day -- including the 4 Canadian soldiers who lost their lives on 17th April 2002.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those who are standing up to defend and protect our right to freedom during these difficult days.

God Bless North America!
