As of this writing individuals have submitted more than 1,500 correspondences. September 11 Email September 11 Email: Body The basic content, as unstructured text; sometimes containing a signature block at the end. Bree and I are both ok. Its been hard to get through, the phones are useless. My eyes have seen the most unspeakable horrors today. My ears have heard the screams. My life has been gratefully spared. Words cannot even express.. anything. First and foremost.. the massive loss of life.. is overwhelming. I have several former co-workers at the WTC that are still unaccounted for. I cannot get home, and I feel selfish for wanting to get home so bad when there are so many who will never return home again. All I want to do right now is be with Dave and never ever let him go. My beautiful Towers.. gone. I watched them go up, I watched them come down. They took a piece of my heart and soul with them. So many days when I worked at WTC I would lay on those benches beneath those commanding towers and stare up into the sky and marvel at the height and majesty of those buildings. I will treasure those moments now. As I sit in the office that I cannot leave.. I still see the smoke where the towers once stood.. and I cannot get home to my loved ones. I am lucky. I want to add that I do not condone violence of ANY KIND. I do not condone rascism of ANY SORT. I am so saddened by these events but refuse to 'take it out' on ANYONE. ESPECIALLY people in our own community who are of middle eastern descent. It is not my place to pass judgement on ANYONE nor is it yours. There are specific groups who are responsible, do not blame a race of humans for these tragedies. We are fine. and very lucky.
