Following is the latest information from Syracuse University of campus
activities following Tuesdays terrorist incidents.

Daily Briefing at 3 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel

At 3 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday in Hendricks Chapel, Chancellor
Kenneth A. Shaw, Hendricks Chapel Dean Thomas V. Wolfe and University
Spokesman will give a daily briefing of campus activities following Tuesdays
incidents in New York City, Washington, D.C., and rural Pennsylvania. The
University community is encouraged to attend.

Chancellors Thursday Address Postponed

Chancellor Shaws address to the University community, originally
scheduled for Thursday afternoon has been rescheduled for Wednesday,
Sept. 19 at 4:15 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel.

Blood Drive Update

Due to a tremendous turnout at the Maxwell School Blood Drive, walk-ins
without an appointment cannot be accepted until at least 3 p.m. today.  The
blood drive has been extended until 5 p.m. today in an attempt to collect
donations from all volunteers.  There are other blood drives taking place this
week.  On Monday, ROTC is sponsoring a drive in the Schine Student
Center.  Please call 443-5624 to make an appointment.  On Sunday the Red
Cross is holding a drive in the ONcenter downtown from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For
more information about these and other blood drive efforts, you can reach the
Red Cross at 1-800-272-4543.

ESF Candlelight Vigil, Other Services

The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will host a
community candlelight vigil at 4 p.m. today on the ESF Quad. Participants
will proceed to Hendricks Chapel. Information tables for students, faculty and
staff of ESF are open at Bray Hall, the Alumni Lounge in Marshall Hall and
Moon Library. Phones are available for ESF students to make long-distance
and local calls in the Alumni Lounge in Marshall Hall. Televisions are also be
set up in the Alumni Lounge.

Student Association Candlelight Vigil Tonight

The Student Association will host a candlelight vigil beginning at 8 p.m.
Wednesday on the steps of Hendricks Chapel. The program will include: a
brief speech by Ben Riemer, Student Association president, words from a
representative of Hendricks Chapel, an open invitation to students to speak
to the assembly, a brief walk around the campus, closing words from a
representative of Hendricks Chapel.

Parking Lot Closed, Converted to Helipad

A parking lot in the Dome West Sector of the campus, the VAH lot, will be
temporarily closed to provide a landing site for helicopters bringing victims
from the terrorist attack in New York City to hospitals on the University Hill.
A request to provide a site was received by the University yesterday late in
the afternoon. Faculty, staff and students are being redirected to nearby lots.

Donations Accepted

The Syracuse University Volunteer Organization and the Center for Public
and Community Service are accepting donations for the United Way
September 11 Fund today at the Schine Student Center. Monies collected
will be forwarded to aid victims of Tuesdays incidents.

Sheets of Expression

The Student Associations Sheets of Expression will continue today
through 5 p.m. on the Quad.

Newhouse Open Forum Tonight

The Newhouse School will host an open forum for students at 7 p.m.
Wednesday in Studio B, NCC II to discuss Tuesdays events.

University College Night Courses Continue

Classes at University College, Syracuse Universitys unit for part-time study,
are being held as usual Wednesday.

Phones Available

Phone lines are available in Steele Hall Rooms 304 and 306 and in the
Schine Student Center for students to make local and long-distance phone
calls.

Strong Response to Tuesday Residence Hall Meetings, Mass

An estimated 2,100 students participated in residence hall meetings
Tuesday night with Residence Life staff and University counselors. About
800 students filled the Alibrandi Catholic Center for a special Mass at 10
p.m. Tuesday.

Counselors, Chaplains Available

For those who want to talk about Tuesdays incidents, counselors for
students are available through the Counseling Center at 443-4715 during the
day and 443-2666 after 5 p.m.; the chaplains of Hendricks Chapel are
available at 443-2901; and the Employee Assistance Program is available for
faculty and staff at 443-1087.
