We were there for the collapse of the second tower. Me and a couple buddies volunteered for search and rescue. When we arrived people were running out of clouds of smoke and dust from the first one that collapsed 15min later the second one dropped. I'm sure you saw the footage of the clouds of smoke and shit blowing through the streets, we were caught in that but were luckily far enough from the implosion that we just got covered with dust and shit...my lungs are killin me. When thing calmed down people started to organize again and just blocks from us Tower 7 dropped and we were caught, literally in a fucking stampede of people, hundreds, running north up Hudson being chased by clouds of dust. It was so scary people had no idea what was going on diving under cars. People were yelling that a bomb went off... Then all you could smell was gas and shit. We headed up town about 20 blocks and hung out at a volunteers apartment and waited for things to calm down which is fuckin impossible after what ya just witnessed. When we finally headed out again and we were quickly escorted out of another area where a suspicious suitcase was left in the street. I can't believe the shit that I've seen today. They finally told people to leave the area because at the time the FBI and CIA turned the area into a crime scene because of the number of police that were killed and layin all over the ground dead with there guns still on them. It was so friggin surreal. Tomorrow we are heading back. All they give ya is a mask, gloves and orange vests and I guess they just send ya in.... The stories we've heard from firefighters were unreal... They were warning us that what we are about to see is disturbing as hell.. They told us stories of shoes that were just layin all over the ground empty. My buddy Craig also lost his girlfriend who worked on the 102nd floor of the first tower that was hit.
