Feel free to write as much or as little as you like. Tell us your story: I will never forget that day, it is burned into my memory. I was at home, three months pregnant. I had just put my 5yr old son on the bus for Pre-K, and my 8yr old daughter out the door to school. I sat down on the couch to relax for a little while and turned on the television. I was amazed to find out a plane had crashed into the world trade center tower. I called my husband at work to see if he had heard about it yet. He is in the air force. His office was just getting the reports. As I watched, the second plane hit the other tower. I was completely in shock. They were spectulating that it was a small sesna, but I could tell it was much larger than that. I called my mother in Florida and woke her up. I stayed on the phone with her for more than an hour, just watching and crying. When the first tower collapsed, I almost collapsed. The only thing I could think of was all those people in that tower. I kept praying that I would wake up, and all this would be a nightmare. Then the second tower went down. I couldn't stop crying. My Mom told me to turn off the tv and try to not think about it. I turned it off, but couldn't stay away. The whole day, I felt like the world was turned upside down. When my kids got home, I kept hugging them and tried to explain what happened to my daughter. She seemed to understand and said that she felt bad for all the people in NY. After that I just tried to keep their day as normal as possible. I was worried that they might have nightmares about it. I was amazed at how well they handled it. They asked a lot of questions, and I answered them as truthfully as I could. When my husband came home, the only thing I could do was hug him and tell him that I love him very much. We stayed close together the rest of that day, and the next. I was afraid to let my family out of my sight. I still think of New York every day, and pray for the world. I will always remember 9-11!!!!
