NMAH Story NMAH Story: Story How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience. On September 11, 2001 a morning none will forget. I woke up that morning the day after I turned 20 for school. It was a sunny beautiful morning in which I felt like skipping school. I decided to go and in psychology class a kid that was late every morning because he watched the news told us that one plane hit. Well after class listening to the radio, I was in shock to hear what I was hearing. It was like a nightmare that I couldn't wake up. That nightmare was reality and it sank in fast. All I could think about was my dad, being from Texas we were in the middle of America. Dad was working at 3 mile island, the nuclear plant that was possibly a target. The thing I remember the most of that day and the following days that hit me very deep was when the National Anthem was played at Buckinghelm Palace during the changing of the gaurds. It was an emotional day for all Americans everywhere. As soon as I graduate college, I am going into the military to serve my part to defend this great nation and also to give a part back that this nation has given to me FREEDOM, INDEPENCE, LOVE NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I believe that the rememberance of September 11th should be that many great people from many nations of the world died in that terrible act of HATE, and our abilty and determination to gracefully bow to those that were lost. Remember the families it directly affected and those people as Americans that shall persevere from this horrible situation. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? I flew the flag after September 11th, and the flags still stands today in our yard. I am very very proud I am American and have the rights that most people don't in this world.
