I witnessed history on September 11th, by watching it on television, reading about it in the paper, and hearing about it from people at school and from my parents. I was very sad for all the people who died, and all the people who lost family members, and for the firemen and policemen who were doing their job and lost their lives. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. The September 11th attacks did change my life because it made me glad that we weren't in the World Trade Center. But it still made me very sad that a lot of people died, and that the firemen, and policemen died. People have been losing jobs and the economy isn't as good as it was. Also the Pledge of Allegiance and patriotic songs were sung more at school and played more on the radio. It brought me closer to my family and relatives. We see each other more and talk on the phone more. We should remember all of the people who died and all of the policemen and firemen who lost their lives doing their job. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? I can't believe this ever happened. And I don't know why it happened either. The worst thing for me was seeing the Afghani children celebrating this awful event. How sad for them too, to think this could ever be a good thing. Those who should be remembered are all the people who died, and all the people who lost family members, and for the firemen and policemen who were doing their job and lost their lives. Also, all of those people in New York who lost jobs should be remembered. Most especially all of the destruction created by hatred. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? We flew an American flag at our Grandma's and Grandpa's house and made flags for the windows in our house. My feelings have not changed about the American flag and my feelings have not changed about America either. I came from a very lonely and terrible life in Russia, and I love being in America where there is so much of everything, and so many things to be happy about.
