I was on my way to work lisening to the radio ,when the anouncer said something about the terrible attacks in New York City. At first i thought they were joking like they like to do on this show in the morning. When this event sank in, and i knew they were'nt kidding, i pulled over to the side of the road. Then i called my son Mike, and said ,turn on the tv now!!! someone is attacking New York. He was shocked ,when he seen the next plane fly into the towers.. I told him to keep watching as i had to at least go into work ,even tho i wanted to turn around right then!! I was stunned that anyone could do such a hidious thing . when i got to work ,our director said everyone can go home at noon.. because of the line of work i was in ,,i stayed on the job but mentaly was'nt their. I just wanted to get home to my family.. NMAH Story: Life Changed Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how. Yes things that seemed important to me, don't anymore. I take more time to hug my family ,and ,appreciate them more.. i'm not into revenge like first, now i just feel sorry for them. They really did'nt know what they were doing.. you just can't hate like this .. Now i take more time to do my work and take more pride in it. i'm going to pursue the hobbies that i put on hold .. crafts, hiking,lifes not about hurrying around. I take more time to accually listen to what people have to say, not just nod my head and pretend i really heard them. NMAH Story: Remembered What do you think should be remembered about September 11th? How this great nation of ours stood shoulder to shoulder and closed ranks .. we didn't demean or antagonize the muslims just because these attackers came from Islam .When the chips are down we reach out with a open hand , not a closed fist. Of course the people who perished should not be forgotten. The firefighters and police, who do put their lives on the line every time they walk out the door.. Our troops who keep demented people from harming us.. NMAH Story: Flag Did you fly an American flag after the events of September 11th? Have your feelings about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th? Oh yes, right after i got home, i got Old Glory out and put her up on the side of my house. where by the way she still is.. I had been flying flag for some time before ,but yes this stuck home on how many live's were giving freely, knowing that the Stars and Stripes would still wave over the land of the free and brave.
