I was in my 2nd hour study hall. The study hall teacher uses other teacher's rooms if they do not have a class that hour. The teacher who's room we used was always in and out of the classroom. He came in with another teacher that morning. They immediately turned the tv to the news coverage of the terrorist attacks. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The first thing I thought about was how many people could lose their lives and I just hoped as many people could be evacuated from the building as possible. It wasn't until the next couple periods until we found out that the buildings had collapsed. Once I heard that, I knew that so many innocent people who didn't deserve it, would die that day. It just didn't seem real. We watched the coverage in every single class the rest of that day. The classes were completely quiet except from the noise of the live coverage on T.V. I just didn't know what to think.
What amazed me were the stories of those who lost their lives. There were so many heroes on those planes that will never be seen again. The other day I heard it perfectly. The real heroes of america are regular people. They are the people on those planes such as the one in pennsylvania, who saved so many lives by sacrificing their own. Real heroes aren't people like Barry Bonds, Joe Montana, or Micheal Jordan. They are normal people who were on those planes that day who decided to go after the terrorists. If I were related to any of them, I would be so very proud.
